MEET THE RABBITS

ALI
Ali is our precious little dog.
She is getting on in years now and can be grumpy in her old age so prefers to be left alone. She is very loving when she trusts you but needs time to get to know people.
MEL & NICK
As the owners, we have put our heart and soul into The Rabbit Hole and together, we imagined a bookshop. What if it could be so much more than that?
A Rabbit Hole, leading to another world, far removed from the hectic digital age we all live in everyday. Somewhere to let your imagination run wild in a safe haven and creative space that welcomes all.
Established in 2017, The Rabbit Hole has been a labour of love and we worked hard to build a bookshop that served the community. Striving to bring creativity and different experiences to the area, to support the local community, we have always tried to work positively with other local businesses and Lincolnshire Councils. Supporting locally based authors, poets, musicians and creatives is something we feel is important to both nurture and encourage Lincolnshire's wealth of talent.
Opening hearts and minds to different ideas and experiences and promoting a love of reading, imagination and creativity is something we have always been keen to do, as well as encouraging children to read for pleasure and have the space and time to choose the books they want to read.

Leaving the Brigg shop after 9 years of working so hard to achieve this was a tough decision, but we feel it was the right one. It feels like we have gone full circle and now ready to start a whole new adventure in a place we really want to be.
When we were packing up in Brigg, many people said, 'Why Grimsby?'
Why not Grimsby? .
Grimsby is a special place with special people and we've been so touched by the welcome we have received and already feel valued. Nick has gone full circle too returning to the place he grew up and Mel, although originally from Brighton, feels very much at home in Grimsby.
We will always remember our years in Brigg and we have learnt much from it but look forward to the next chapter of The Rabbit Hole and the joy we know it will bring to our lives.

CAITLIN
Caitlin has been volunteering and helping us in the shop and with events since she was 14.
Although she was sad to see The Rabbit Hole leave Brigg, she understood why it was necessary and decided to take on a full-time position at a local SEN school, where she already worked one day a week, as a Reading Ambassador.
We are very proud of her and will continue to work closely with her and the school. Caitlin will still take some time out from her new job to attend festivals, school visits and events with The Rabbit Hole so we are delighted she will still be around.

ABBIE
Abbie has been with us since she was in Y5 at primary school when she joined our reading group and has always been an avid reader.
In September, she will go to university and has helped out in the shop since she was 13.

Abbie worked with us part-time on a Saturday and also helped with events and festivals.

Growing up with The Rabbit Hole, like Caitlin, Abbie was very sad to see us go but wants to focus on her exams so has taken some time out for now.
However, she is considering working for us again once we're settled, which we would love.
Good luck with your exams Abbie x
