After nearly nine years, The Rabbit Hole will be relocating from Brigg to Northeast Lincolnshire. Further information regarding this transition will be provided shortly.

This has been a huge and difficult decision for us, not taken lightly, and we will be very sad to leave the Brigg community and our loyal, local customers.

Many of our customers have become friends over the years, and we have many happy memories.  This decision has been reached after careful consideration, and we have concluded it is now necessary for our own personal well-being and for the business to continue.

We are pleased to note that our new location will be approximately a thirty-minute drive away, and we look forward to welcoming both existing and new customers at our new premises.

GOODBYE TO BRIGG

There are multiple factors contributing to this move, including a recent opportunity to participate in an innovative project supported by local stakeholders. Nick’s longstanding family connections in Northeast Lincolnshire, combined with the enthusiastic response from businesses and organisations in the area, have greatly encouraged us. We are preparing for upcoming events and are eager to engage in new initiatives and developments across Greater Lincolnshire and beyond.

This relocation will not influence any events we conduct in partnership with schools and colleges throughout the county. All activities, author visits, book ordering and delivery will continue to operate as usual and remain accessible to everyone. For example, our recent school visits with Philippa Leathley and Ben Rothery included both primary and secondary institutions in North Lincolnshire, West Lindsey, East Lindsey, and Northeast Lincolnshire.

We already have several school author events scheduled for 2026, and we'll be reaching out to schools about them soon. Additionally, we are continuing with preparations for The No Limits Festival 2026 with the steering group, pending approval from North Lincs Council for Normanby Hall to host the event for its fifth consecutive, and hopefully even more successful year.

Rabbit Hole Book Tokens will continue to be valid for redemption at our new location once it opens, though customers are welcome to use them prior to our move. Loyalty card points will also transfer to ensure continued benefits, and we are happy to check the status of your points total so you can spend anything due.

In the period leading up to our departure, we will offer an extensive selection of preloved books at attractive prices, along with furniture and other items. We invite you to visit us and discuss any offers on second-hand goods and furnishings.

Our anticipated final day in Brigg is Thursday April 2nd, with trading officially ceasing on Saturday March 28th; however, we will be in the shop during the final packing process. The last date to place orders for book collection at the Brigg location is Saturday March 21st. Please ensure all outstanding orders are collected by Saturday March 28th.

We deeply appreciate the support and kindness shown by the community throughout the years. While we will miss many familiar faces, we look forward to starting a new chapter in Northeast Lincolnshire and it is time to start a new adventure, and create a new sense of place, down a new Rabbit Hole.

Thank you for the lovely welcome, Our Big Picture!

'The rabbit’s out of the hat! 🐰✨

We are absolutely thrilled that the much-loved and widely respected Rabbit Hole Independent Bookshop will hopefully be joining the Our Big Picture family in the ground floor 17-19 Bethlehem Street in Grimsby.

Nick and Mel work tirelessly to bring the joy of reading to children and the wider community, and the magic they create - particularly with children and young people- is exactly what we are all about at OBP. We genuinely cannot wait to welcome them.

Unfortunately, we do have to wait a little longer - planning permission and approvals rightly take time, so watch this space — we’ll share more news as soon as we can! 🤞

And if you haven’t yet seen our incredible exhibition space at 21 Bethlehem Street, you are in for a treat. Wider, flooded with natural light, and a genuinely inspiring place to experience art and creativity, it is shaping up to be something really special. We can’t wait to show you more.' 🎉
