Rabbits in Waiting

Waiting for our new shop to be ready is rather frustrating, but necessary and we're hoping to be trading again soon. Subject to planning and approvals we will be setting up home with Our Big Picture at 17-19 Bethlehem Street in Grimsby and really looking forward to the future. These lovely people are on the same wavelength as us, regarding access to art, culture, heritage and creativity being accessible to all and it seems to be the ideal home for The Rabbit Hole.

We haven't been sitting on our laurels though and have been busy down various Rabbit Holes in the meantime.

Hosting two schools and UTC to pick books for their children and students in our final two weeks as well an author visit to two schools with Hull SLS.

Plus organising and supplying Hull SLS with a whopping 4000 copies of Zak Monroe is (not) my Friend, by Simon Packham for their One Hull of a Read, while on the move. Supplying Books to Wootton School for their library after CANPACK UK kindly donated £1800 for their library.

HULL SLS HEADQUARTERS DURING THEIR HUGE DELIVERY

After closing the doors to the public on the 28th March, we packed up, with the help of some very special people, and left Brigg on the 3rd April.

On April 8th, we had the pleasure of visiting CANPACK UK in Scunthorpe, where Phillip and Sarah provided us with an exclusive guided tour. It was truly captivating and highly recommended for school visits. Since being a sponsor of the NO LIMITS Festival, CANPACK UK has assisted and supported the local schools, they have met by organising school trips, supplying books for their libraries, and becoming governors.

CANPACK UK have been enthusiastic supporters and sponsors of NO LIMITS Festival, alongside ACE and creActiv's sponsor Ecotricity in 2025. All have helped to keep this free and fully inclusive festival going, which North Lincolnshire Council have recently confirmed they can no longer accommodate .

This was very sad and disappointing, and one of the factors in our final decision to leave North Lincs. Particularly in a year when everyone is celebrating the Year Of Reading, the town of culture entry for Scunthorpe and the keenness of companies sponsoring to support the environmental agenda.

Since it began, four years ago, No Limits has always actively encouraged culture, heritage and creativity to support community and a sense of place. Many local schools, community groups, businesses, traders and creatives, who plan and look forward to the festival, will lose out and be deprived of this special free weekend to celebrate their heritage, culture and creative talent. Currently, we are looking at the possibility of other venues and options for the festival so it can continue.

We hope to continue to support North Lincs schools, who benefit from the promotional author visits we have supplied for many years as well as bringing this free service to some new schools in N.E. Lincs.

The community have always been supportive of what we do and although we look forward to a new future, after 9 years in Brigg, we will miss a lot of people and hope to see some of you in our new home.
